Sunni-Shiite War

The West and it's allies need to co-ordinate and design a coherent policy for the present phase of the Sunni-Shiite war and other lower grade disputes involving Islam as in Thailand.

It is an illusion to think that the West can control any of the individuals or militias in Syria. Who in that back-stabbing environment could we trust? That is not to say that the US , Israel and Turkey would not have a target list if their own interests are threatened . So the issue is containment. If the groups in Southern Thailand take on an al Qaeda form , what does the West do ? The containment option..

It is up to individual Muslim countries to stop the propagation of the Islamic war doctrine within their own borders . If it spills over and disrupts Western interests in Africa , the Middle East or shipping lanes in the South China Sea, we should act.
