Religion in its present form has ceased to be of any relevanceReader comment on item: When Sunni and Shiite Extremists Make War Submitted by Sujay Rao Mandavilli (India), Dec 20, 2014 at 11:12 The time has come to carry out a critical analysis of all religions, whether it may be Hinduism or Islam. It is necessary to idenitfy elements of all these faiths which act against human interests. The governments must stop pretending all religions are equal- this is an antiquated shibboleth. I say 90% of Islam is evil. Unless all evil elements of religions are expunged, they should not be given a right to practice their fath. Let us differentiate between freedom of faith and the greater interests of humantity. All religions are levethians that have ceased to be of relevance in the present-day world. (a) Scholars in non-moslem countries must take the lead in identifying objectionable content in Islam and other religions (b) ban or restrict the practice of such religions in their present or complete form and create awareness world wide. I look forward to the day when Islam (and other religions) in their present form are banned in the USA, Europe and else where, and governments cease to pay lip-service to secularism and act in the greater interests of mankind. There is another issue of an alternative faith as atheism or agnosticism do no appeal to most people - there is a dearth of credible alternatives - however the Baha'i faith in the middle east or the Sanatha Dharma of Ancient India along with Budhism and Zoroastrianism are viable alternatives. I look forward to the emergence of a religion of universal bortherhood which makes allowance for regional flavours. Can somebody work towards the emergence of such a philosophy which is the crying need of the day?
