Dr. Pipes supports Netanyahu over Bennett. Why?Reader comment on item: Jews Living in Palestine? Submitted by Steve Klein (United States), Feb 6, 2014 at 11:31 Dr. Pipes, to your point that Bennett's party had previously articulated Netanyahu's view, leaving things a complete muddle, etc. Your link: "MK Ayelet Shaked said Jewish Israelis should be allowed to stay in a future state of Palestine," she later claimed, unlike Netanyahu, was theoretical. Nevertheless, Naftali Bennett should have repudiated the hypothetical idea immediately since he speaks for the party, not MK Shaked. Bennett and his party do not support a Palestinian state anywhere in Judea and Samaria (the "West Bank"), nor do I. I think it is possible the reason you support Netanyahu over Bennett is because you do (in principle) accept the idea of a Palestinian state in Israel. Am I wrong?

Daniel Pipes replies: I am against the "two-state solution" as you can see here: http://www.danielpipes.org/6110/solving-the-palestinian-problem But I also realize that the Jordan-Egypt idea cannot be permanent. So, I say that if the Palestinians really clean up their act, they can one day have a state. I do not expect to live to see that day. Reader comments (41) on this item
