Israel and Egypt together could not beat tiny HAMASReader comment on item: The West Lacks a Plan Submitted by Michael S. (United States), Sep 8, 2014 at 18:26 Susan K, here's your answer:
Israel did not have Hizbullah to worry about when it fought HAMAS in Gaza. Hizbullah was not a threat, because it was too pre-occupied with the civil war in Syria. Israel had no enemy greater than HAMAS. In fact, she had Egypt to help her. Even today, Egypt is at war with HAMAS, Islamic Jihad and the Muslim Brotherhood in Sinai, right at Gaza's door. The Egyptians were even blockading Gaza and blowing up tunnels to it, at the same time Israel was doing the same. Therefore, it was not a case of Israel vs. HAMAS plus friends; it was a case of Israel plus friends vs. HAMAS -- and HAMAS has withstood Israel and continues, from beneath the rubble, to make more rockets to launch at her. Israel has been utterly humiliated, as it was in the days of Ai. In those days, at least, Israel repented and finally won the victory. Today, in contrast, Israel is repenting of nothing and letting her enemies go from strength to strength. Whoever said Jews were smart, and that Israelis were strong, was obviously wrong.
