What Else Would You Expect?Reader comment on item: Decoding the Obama Doctrine Submitted by John J. (United States), Apr 7, 2015 at 15:18 Beyond obvious for quite a while that Obama has deep sympathy and support for Muslims and Islamist countries, in contradistinction to his incomprehensibly bad treatment of long-time loyal and valuable allies like Israel. Witness for example how Obama has handled recent Egyptian governments--when the Muslim Brotherhood took over, the U.S. recognized them within days, including immediate granting of access to U.S. weapons. Since the Brotherhood was(thankfully) deposed by a pro-Western military government, Obama has treated them much worse, and STILL hasn't agreed to provide American weapons! Wonder how else but his pro-Muslim sympathies that can be explained by these bizarre policies. The only real question here is: what will really happen with Iran, and will this very bad deal with the world's most dangerous regime, hold? The Republicans, for all complaining, blustering, and threatening, and in spite of their control now of both houses of Congress, have been remarkably weak and inept at actually blocking any of Obama's bad policies, Executive Orders, etc. (think a $1 trillion Amnesty program!) Let's hope with not just Israel's but the U.S.' and indeed the Western world's security at stake now that this horrendous deal has been signed, the Republicans will "do the right thing", and actually organize some meaningful opposition. After all, I thought the Constitution stipulates that 1 of the Senate's major roles is to "advise and consent" on foreign treaties. And anyone claiming this ISN'T about U.S. security needs to explain why Iran is so busy also developing ICBM'S. This enabling attitude toward Iran of the Obama Administration would make Chamberlain proud--except there weren't nuclear weapons to allow Hitler to get in 1938! Clear that his deal with Iran, as damaging and destructive to U.S. and world security as it is, means Obama is "naïve", "dumb", or even acting out a policy of contrition. In reality I believe he WANTS a nuclear Iran, which would then be able to counterbalance the nuclear capabilities of Israel and the rest of the Judeo-Christian Western world for which he has disdain and contempt. Obama, while undoubtedly the worst U.S. President in modern history, nonetheless isn't stupid. What he's done with Iran is totally consistent with his long-held and clear-cut views to anyone paying attention.
