Recapping Doctrines of 2016Reader comment on item: Decoding the Obama Doctrine Submitted by M Tovey (United States), Feb 3, 2016 at 15:42 Politics is about and always functions as a means to manipulate government; and America is no exception. Indeed, as much as the American political struggles through its history, there is no other country that can demonstrate the complexities of maintaining freedom more than America. The current officiate in the White House, the Candidate, has taken America to task for those extreme reasons, taking America so far away from its Constitutional roots that even the 'extreme' conservatives have a hard time dealing with getting back to the Constitution. As a quick notice in your observations, the democratic predecessor Kennedy did not die for the cause of an anti-war stance, but of something more insidious, the truth of which was so maliciously mishandled in those days that there is no way today that it can be revealed without extreme prejudice. Those repercussions are still with us. The key to decoding the Candidate is to go back and reread his tome, 'dreams of my father.' Distill that with his upbringing and subsequent secondary education to realize his understanding of America does not comport with the oath of office, later amplified with his Cairo 2009 speech. His form of politics, predicted for us by candidates Edwards and Gore and others is to divide, then set the stage for the divided to engage battle at his behest; then follow through with a pontification that somehow he could help settle the score. The Arab uprisings are examples of that and Syria in still in that state. All of this is still in play for 2016, as if we need anything more than the republican candidacies as examples here. As you have observed, supporter of global initiatives (with the highly visible support of the Candidate) are on a forced march to destabilize the world status quo, which may likely result in someone (not saying who here) exercising the nuclear option. It is inevitable, unfortunately. To that extent, from this perspective, Israel is likely to be the spark and the world does not have any who qualifies as firemen. Beware of any who say they are, especially if they call from America. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
