The Invectives of the Middle East Culminating in Isaiah 19

I would be remiss were I not to stress caution in labeling my observations here as 'doctrine,' when explicitly and in certain circumstances, these commentaries are observances with a decidedly Biblical worldview. That being said, what you provide in contrast is quite compelling in its own terms in this venue of Dr. Pipes; and only in differing perspectives can any distinction be made.

I will reaffirm that from by Biblical point of view the events in the Middle East are marching towards a destiny that all participants need to be wary of; from the minutia of the sectarian and factional infighting of centuries-old hatreds and which appears unquenchable; to the more dramatically Biblical appearances of empires trying to be 'king of teh hill' in Jerusalem in spite of all the imperatives of Israel's Eternal Sovereign saying in writing - don't mess with Israel.

Though for slightly opposing perspectives, your insistence that Turkey features as a larger than life presence in that historically it has been at the crossroads of many of the past's empire-building, we know from scripture that its function in the future is a part of a larger combine; whether or not its appearance as the head of such is still shrouded in much conjecture in contrast to Elam/Persia/Iran.

Also in contrast to what you have observed from your perspective, I cannot dismiss Mesech and Tubal as being part of the construct emanating from the north. For the type of massive military build-up of Ezekiel's vision cannot be imagined in todays' terms except in super-power status, like that of a coalesence of the Iran proxy cohorts forming around the central mass of the 'northern armies,' all rallying around a worldwide call for disciplining Israel's disobedience to the UN's to create 'Palestine' in Israel's place. All are being readied for being 'sixed.'

Isaiah 19 from this perpsective is a culminating action of chapters 16 through 20, with some significance of the 'Palestinian' question called for in Psalm 83. What happens with the Da'ish remains to be seen, but right now these actions may only be the catalyst. A replay of Esther's purim flashed very briefly some time back and this may be crucial in the timing. 'Til then, we'll see........
