Turkey & ISIL joining hands?

Hi, Tovey.

I had to look up "elegy" -- it's not in my usual vocabulary. That aside, you said,

"...to what extent does the current American Administrative Chief Executive bear his responsibility to the legacy with which he seems intent to destroy the America he never appreciated..."

I don't think Obama has shown signs of bearing responsibility for anything he's done. He may very well blame George W. Bush for it all.

Meanwhile, something has come up in the news. I've seen two very serious articles about the advance of the Islamic Caliphate in Afghanistan. Turkmenistan seems to be terrified about it, and has asked for Russian troops to help defend it (a real sign of panic, for normally neutral Turkmenistan); and every Central Asian republic from the Caspian Sea to China seems concerned as well.

Apparently, the Caliphate, aka Da'esh aka ISIL, etc. has recruited tens of thousands of fighters from Central Asia and Xinjiang, and is training them in live combat in Syraqia. They have been slipping them back into Afghanistan, where a large part of the Taliban have already sworn allegience to the "Caliph". From there, they intend to infiltrate and capture the Ferghana Valley, a strategic place at the convergence of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

All in all, the "Caliphate" idea seems to be catching on among tens of thousands or more among the Muslims. Meanwhile, I've noticed that after many months of Obama trying to woo Turkey to work alongside him against ISIL, the Turks continue to refuse effective help, and have continued secretly helping the terrorists. It occurred to me, that perhaps ISIL and Turkey might join hands in the near future, and collectively claim to be the revival of ancient Islamic glory. They will have the makings of an empire, at least in embryonic form, from Xinjiang to Turkey to Nigeria to Yemen. This could be "Gog, land of Magog, Chief Prince of Meshech and Tubal, etc."
