Why fear the Muslims? These typical American kids will put a chill up your spine.Reader comment on item: Finally Getting Serious about Identifying Islamists? Submitted by Michael S (United States), May 24, 2016 at 06:02 Hello, Daniel I wonder how your vetting process would have worked on the following fellow: The interviewer said, "I work for Friends for Hamas. We are not your father's terrorist organization. We have evolved beyond that. What we do, is that we've rebuilt and rebranded ourselves, and we're looking to destroy Israel. We don't want just Gaza; we want all of Israel." He got a favorable response from students, and found them willing to donate to the cause -- even after telling them that Hamas wanted to strike "soft targets" like "schools and cafes and that sort of thing". The interviews took place at Portland State University. I didn't see any of the students toting Qurans; and I doubt that they were Salafists or religious zealots. They're pretty much ordinary white American kids, who would have no trouble getting positions with an airline or the TSA.
