Get Serious About Identifying Competent IdentifiersReader comment on item: Finally Getting Serious about Identifying Islamists? Submitted by Dave (United States), May 28, 2016 at 18:42 While it's good to hear that France is getting serious about weeding out Islamists, that process begs the question: How are we to qualify those making those decisions? In tandem with devising any criteria for classifying Muslims, we will also have to educate the public as to what constitutes an Islamist. That's no simple task given the resistance by the liberal elites in the U.S. who officially forbid any mention of the phrase "Islamic terrorism" in training materials, making ignorance of Islamic doctrine a politically correct virtue. This is allegedly done for the sake of Muslims, to demonstrate our respect for them, thereby ensuring their cooperation with us and not alienating them in such a way as to lead them to join terrorist groups. But how about reorienting our priorities for the sake of the rest of us, to reassure the people that their safety is paramount and that an essential component of that protection is based on the proposition that knowledge is power? That way, maybe fewer people will be alienated and vote for Donald Trump.
