The amazing Sayyid el-QimniReader comment on item: Finally Getting Serious about Identifying Islamists? Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Jun 11, 2016 at 07:36 Dr Pipes I'm sure that you are aware of Sayyid el-Qimni who is an Egyptian historian. In this video below he goes after not just the Qur'an but the Islamic history and he insists that the Arab invasion of Egypt was imperialism and colonialism that cannot be justified He also states that the Qur'an is a Nass Tarikhi or an historical text This means that the Qur'an should be subjected to literary criticism and should be regarded as a text at a point in time and for sure not perfect for all times and all places He also states that the idea that the Qur'an is un-created does not make sense and he gives the example of Q66 where the internal affairs of Muhammad's household are being debated He also tackles the issues of jihad slavery abuse of women and non Muslims as ideas in Islam that have no place in the modern world This does not mean that al-Azhar is happy with what he is saying But the fact that such topics are being debated on Egyptian TV is very interesting el-Qimni is an example of Muslims that we should support The likes of Hillary Clinton should stop tweeting her nonsense about peaceful Islam and her support for the terrorist group the Muslim Brotherhood and start listening to Mr el-Qmini I would also encourage Donald Trump to listen to him and realize that many Muslims are trying to change Islam from within and they need our support and realize that the real problem in the West is the toxic brew of Islamists and so called liberals Here is the video Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
