Teaching Arabic to Germany's youth

I wish I could be as optimistic as you are. I read Fitzgerald's whole article on the subject and just the thought of changing from English to Arabic is very disturbing to me. And while polls show most people did not want to change, even mildly conservative people, we all know the ruling elites don't always listen to the people. I wouldn't be surprised if the change happens.
