Many are Called; Few are ChosenReader comment on item: Two Opposing Views of the Islamist Threat Submitted by M Tovey (United States), Sep 21, 2016 at 16:50 In reading of the story of how many Russian émigrés find life in America challenging due to the mostly unfettered truly American expressions of freedom, one such story is recalled about Viktor Belenko, a former Soviet citizen who became somewhat of a story by defecting. In a brief narrative of his adventure, he was shown a different America than that of his Soviet teachers view of America. They nearly got him to consider returning due to the overwhelming nature of being American. Once over the shock, he began his journey into what it really meant to be American. Being born American allowed many to escape the oppression of the past empires of variant belief systems; only now are we seeing that such deviant ideologies that hate the former American way as it seems the current Chief Executive does is taking deeper root; and now that there is an apostasy to the Christian basis of belief, he may very well finish his agenda of allowing Islam free access to sublimate the new Amerikan way to his ideal of total globalization. How 'many' are ready for that? Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
