Daniel, thank you for this piece. I could not agree more. At every opportunity, though I'm just a private citizen, I keep pointing out to everyone the obvious fact that Turkey is not "our friend", can't be counted on, should not become a part of the EU, and needs to be out of NATO. Even today, Germany, beset by Islamist problems, continues to advocate for Turkey inclusion. How can the "west" continues to act as if they have a death wish?
