When I read these comments by McMaster, I just concluded that he is either ignorant or he is a liar. I suspect he is really ignorant He earned a PhD albeit in American History so he should be aware of the rigor of the Historical Method as in provide evidence or "shut up"

I was very surprised that Trump appointed him and still McMaster had the audacity to utter this nonsense

Absolutely horrible but again he lives in Washington DC where every thing is "Group Think" so Islam is the religion of peace because Barack Hussein Obama says so or was it Bush, and Daesh is un-Islamic because CAIR says so! So it does not surprise me that he repeats the same nonsense

Daesh's interpretation of Islam is very Islamic and it is all in the books of Islam and my challenge to Muslims stand! See above

He wrote it following the 9/11 atrocity I suspect the NYT would not publish such an an article today because he is very clear in blaming Islamic doctrines that led to such atrocity and that only Muslims can fix Islam

Islam needs to be reformed and it is happening may be slowly but surely. Many young Muslims in the Arabic speaking world want to see Islam reformed We just have to wait and see
