Israel in NATO?? God Forbid!

Hello, "Sherlock" Robert. You rhetorically asked,

'Was the Steele Dossier a "conspiracy" designed to smear Donald Trump by the Republicans, Democrats, Britons, and the Secret Service agencies of both countries? "J'Accuse"...'

If you were honestly asking me these things, I would respond, "I haven't got a clue".

Let me see. What was all this about... Ah, yes, "President Trump (ficticiously) calls for Israel to join NATO". to which I respond,

"God forbid!" I thank God, that His chosen people are not really major players in global politics, despite the beliefs of the cospiracy theorists, some of who you mention. As Moses said,

Deut. 7:
[7] The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:
[8] But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
[9] Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
[10] And repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.

Israel is in the business of defending the Jewish people from annihilation, PERIOD. Over the millennia of the diaspora, many Jews have risen to prominence as servants of the world's leaders, just as Joseph did, nearly 4000 years ago, in Egypt. Nevertheless, Israel's interest has not been in ruling the world, nor Egypt, nor England. It has been with their own existence as a unique people, who have given Torah to the world.

Steering back toward the main topic of this discussion, Turkey, unlike Israel, DOES have an ambition to become a major regional power and the preeminent Muslim country in the world. To date, they have been part of NATO, utilizing the alliance whenever that is convenient to them, but otherwise ignoring and even scorning their commitments. This will come to no good for them.

Daniel Pipes predicts their downfall, though their President Erdogan's overextending himself. This agrees with the Biblical prophecy of a country called "Magog", which corresponds roughly to Turkey. Circumstances are changing so rapidly in that part of the world, I would not be at all suprized to see Turkey lead a military misadventure against Israel in the near future.
