There is no doubt that Salman Rushdie was a pioneer in brining to the attention of Muslims and non Muslims the story of The Satanic Verses and that Muhammad recited verses "revealed" to him by Satan and Gabriel comes to the rescue and the Satanic Verses are removed from the text of what was to become the Qur'an

What is really bizarre is that Muslims from Pakistan that are celebrating the barbaric attempted murder of Mr. Rushdie have no clue about the disasters in their books the likes of the story of The Satanic Verses. They just do not read their books and they only get their information from their ignorant Mullahs.

Notice that the alleged attacker plunged the knife in his neck and this could very well be Quranic. Check Surat al-Anfal: 12

It says: الذين آمنوا سألقي في قلوب الذين كفروا الرعب فاضربوا فوق الأعناق

Or Those that believed I (Allah) will drop in the hearts of those that disbelieve terror then you (the believers) hit above the necks

al-Qurtubi corrects this odd sentence

فاضربوا فوق الأعناق

And it is corrected as:

اضربوا الأعناق

Or: Hit the necks

And this is indeed what the alleged attacker did to Mr. Rushdie

PS: Are you aware that Jimmy Carter wrote an article in 1989 condemning Salman Rushdie for writing his book: The Satanic Verses? I wonder why.
