Very disgusting and very sad.

Again, here is the real meaning of "hitting/Beating of the neck" as would have been understood by al-Tabari and that is the Aramaic meaning of the word "Dar bu ni" (compare with Arabic Darb) as was explained in a pervious post:

This is the word in Aramaic: ܕܲܪܒܘܼܢܹܐ or Dar bu ni (same root as in Arabic D-R-B)

However, we know the meaning of the Aramaic ܕܲܪܒܘܼܢܹܐ and it means:

"1) a wound , a cut , a stab , a blow (weapon, fist ...) ; 2) to wound , to cut , to stab , to give a blow"

This is the meaning of the word Darb in the verse. And this explains very well the atrocities inflicted on the victims (as well as the atrocity inflicted on the father of this deranged person in France) of the terrorist members of Da'esh who knew very well what the Qur'an says.

Last, notice that the author of the verse says:

الذين آمنوا سألقي في قلوب الذين كفروا الرعب

Or: (Allah is addressing believers) Those that believed I (Allah) will drop TERROR in the hearts those that disbelieved

Remember that the doctrine of al-Qada' wa al-Qadr or Predestination is as important in Islam as al-Tawhid. So Allah plans every thing including deciding who will be a kafir or not. So if Mr. Rushdie is a Kafir then we can only blame the God of Islam.

Allah is the one who planned the attack on Mr. Rushdie, by this young Lebanese Shi'a man, because this is what al-Qada' wa al-Dadr is all about.

More disasters? This Surat al-Anfal: 17 and it says:

فلم تقتلوهم ولكن الله قتلهم وما رميت إذ رميت ولكن الله رمى

This can be rendered as: It is not you who killed them it Was Allah that killed them. When you threw what ever you threw but it is Allah who who threw.

The author of the Qur'an was not a smart theologian.
