A catalog of Quranic verses for Muslims to read carefully (Q8-12, Q5-33, Q9-5)Reader comment on item: The Rushdie Fatwa 25 Years Later Submitted by Prashant (United States), Aug 18, 2022 at 18:00 Dear people, I read the Quran Q8-12. It is brutal. I will recommend that Muslims who do not understand Arabic, read the translation of Q8-12 in whichever language that they can read. And, while they are at it, I request them to read Q5-33 and Q9-5 (the verse of sword). It is interesting that Q9-5 combined with Q9-6 is a complete instruction to convert others by force. Allah essentially franchise violence and granted quite a lot of authority to fallible humans! I would like Muslims to understand that 100 good verses in the Quran would not balance 5 bad verses. A religious scripture needs to be very very kind and full of love, forgiveness, and wisdom. The overall theme of a scripture should be that of kindness toward **all**.
