Look at each Muslim country history individually and in detailReader comment on item: Israel's Partial Victory Submitted by Robert (United States), Nov 20, 2022 at 17:15 Dear Prashant, In your narrative on Islam you "paint" the ceiling or a wall with a very thick or broad brush. I ask you to try to paint a detailed, fine, painting with much thinner brushes. If you look at different places (countries) where Muslim live, since Napoleon "discovered" the Islamic world (as Dr. Daniel Pipes points out this beginning) you will find that Islam is changing, and experimenting, with how Muslims are to live in the Modern World. Secular Fascists, Dictators (Iraq, Libya, Syria, for example) are disappearing. Kingdoms are holding (Jordan, Gulf States). Turkey switch from being Secular, to adopting a form of Muslim Brotherhood governance; Gaza (under Hamas) also subscribes to Muslim Brotherhood ideology). Iran is the only state which has a Muslim Theocracy, but a revolution, towards Secularism, seems to be taking place. I'm now going to stop arbitrarily. I hope you get my drift? You seem to think that Islam is not changing? Even the Saudis, years ago, were willing to accept Israel - if only it would make peace with the Palestinians! It is only the Iranians and the Palestinian who oppose the Jewish state of Israel on existential grounds; that's an amazing concession; and now, with the Abrahamic Accord there is even Peace with Israel BEFORE a Peace with the Palestinians. So I do not agree with you that Islam is a Monolithic Impossibility; in fact it may one day go into an alliance with Judaeo-Christian world, together with India, against the Atheistic world of China (to early to say that this is impossible). Don't overlook the fact that the Saudi Kingdom was shocked by 9-11, and must have taken steps that nothing like that will happen again out of subjects within the Saudi realm; Mohammad bin Salman wants a technologically modern country, with women driving, and not-subject tourist being able to drink alcohol in their restricted hotels, etc. And don't overlook how different, and more progressive, the Muslims of India are compared to those in Pakistan. In Brief, a careful look, over decades and centuries, Islam is involving and changing to adopt to the technologically and environmentally changing conditions of this world.
