Muslim Arabs Countries Moving Closer to0 IsraelReader comment on item: Israel's Partial Victory Submitted by Robert (United States), Feb 13, 2023 at 11:12 Dear Reader Prashant, I think you are overlooking a significant change in the attitude of the most important Muslim countries in the world - the Gulf States. Islam is changing for the better right in front of your eyes, but you only see its bad side, it seems. I think wealthy educated Muslims who are in power in these non-democratic countries see the disaster that ISIS and other extreme Muslims have brought to the world as both a failure and a danger to them and their countries. Also, I think that you are overlooking that non-Arab Muslims, like Iranians and Pakistanis, want to show that they are the better, or real Muslims. So that's why the Arabs are the first to move to the more liberal side. Did you head that a Saudi woman will soon be the fist Muslim Arab Astronaut woman in space together with a man who is not her husband? Also, look at the Muslim disaster in Syria and Lebanon - this shows Muslim Arabs that there is something wrong with their governance that has nothing to do with Israel, the United States, or the West. Even in your own country, India, how different are the Muslims from their Pakistani and Bangladeshi brothers and sisters? How many "Muslims" in India have accepted their Hindu brothers and sisters or have become secular, or married Hindu women without forcing them to convert to Islam? I just think the picture is not as dark as you claim, but I do side with the Hindu side of India, and I acknowledge that Islam has not yet sufficiently reformed. Also, look at the major strategic and economic alliance between India, Israel, and the UAE. Isn't this an amazing phenomena? There is also the 4-way alliance in which the USA joins these three. Prashant, I think you overlook or underestimate the Rise of India from the Third World when it was still a weak country. I believe it will soon emerge as a direct competitor to Communist China. People forget that India is the worlds largest democracy by population. As you know, India has a more complex religious view of divinity, and since it has almost as much people as China (the most populous country) India will impose its will on the world for Religious Tolerance - beginning of course with its own Muslims and perhaps coming to terms with Pakistan, where a woman was recently raped in the capitol's public park. In brief, it is India which can teach the world how Muslims and non-Muslims can live with one another in a democratic way! And this is already happening - but slowly, and not as fast as you (or me) would like. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
