Finally some Common SenseReader comment on item: Israel and Congressional Democrats Submitted by John W. McGinley (United States), Oct 20, 2010 at 07:05 American Jews have had a love-affair with the Democratic Party since the early days of the the FDR presidency. There was some logic to such back then. FDR had Jewish connections; he was a spokeman for the poor and disadvantaged and many Jews back then were in that situation; his domestic policies had the ring of Social Justice, an endemic concern of the Jews over the centuries. That was then. This is now. Starting in the late sixties the Left (including much of the Democratic Party) took it upon themselves to discredit Israel. This antipathy towards Israel over the years from these people started to marinate towards hatred of Israel mixed in with both covert and overt Anti-Semitism. And what did the majority of Jews do while this was going on? They kept their loyalty to the Democratic Party. A kind of masochism, really. A knd of self-hatred. Please understand. As an Irish-American from a working class family I understand the Democratic thing. But it has long-since lost its meaning. Generally I have a distaste for Republicans and the Republican Party. But I ain't stupid (except for my radically ill-advised support of that Messiah claimant who now occurpies the White House). When it comes to national defense and support of Israel it's a no-brainer. Vote Republican. Social Justice? It's already accomplished and has been since the time of President Johnson. What is paraded today as "Social Justice" is simply an agendum to turn our county into a Socialist State. Jews of America! Wake-up! Voting Democratic is no longer in America's interest nor in the Jewish/American interest. And, to boot, voting Democratic is, in effect, voting for a clear and present danger to the nation of Israel.
