Its another trend

I don't think that anti-Israel sentiment in the Democratic party is so much a trend deriving from Islamic demographics in America. It looks more to me, as an American, a function of the Universities and the New Left mood in the party. Political Correctness pressures look like they favor the perceived victims and their sympathizers. Palestinians are constituted as permanent victims, so they get a hearing. Campus Watch documents the bias against Israel on the campuses. Perhaps Israel also has become an "establishment concern" in the eyes of the youth, and they are reacting by taking the side of what they perceive as the underdog...the helpless, hapless Palestinian. University kids and graduates were very important in the electoral victories of 2008.
