Put Muslims for choices from the outsideReader comment on item: "You can't fight Islamism with ideas coming out of Europe" Submitted by Demsci (Netherlands), Dec 12, 2010 at 04:37 Gershom, thanks for sharing that valuable info and insight. It looks very familiar, much like in Holland, where I live in a similar city as yours. It seems to me that if the Musims are not scared for their own radicals, they still are disinterested. Primarily blaming, considering almost all criticism of Islam hate-speech, it seems. They certainly are not one bit afraid of or pressured much by non-Muslims to reform. Well, Islam in all it's aspects, in theory and practice, should be well known. There should be and already are, I think Critical Islam-experts that match Believing Islam Experts in knowledge and excel in Islam-knowledge hugely the vast majority of Muslims. When Islam is known as it is, by both Muslims and other Citizens of Democratic Nations, it becomes possible to pressurize Muslims to reform from the outside. Politicians can now say to Muslims that Islam is now no longer mysterious but sufficiently known to consider it either essentially anti-democratic, siding with known enemies of Democracy. Or at least criminally vulnerable to misunderstanding and misuse in favor of these enemies. And Islam is not a race but a choice. So choosing for Islam can be made as punishable as driving through red lights or speeding. Only with different punishments. It should be obvious that countries have a right to demand loyalty or at least neutrality to it's most essential laws and values. And being member of the Islamic ideology in a Democratic Nation can be seen to mean at least knowingly or unknowingly helping enemies and thus treason. Muslims in Democratic Nations can then either reform, this time under deep pressure from non-Muslims, or eventually relocate to countries to whose laws and values they can be loyal or neutral to.
