Optimistic but unrealisticReader comment on item: My Optimism about the New Arab Revolt Submitted by Susan (United States), Mar 3, 2011 at 01:44 I am sure that Mr. Yousef understands the Muslim ethos, having been one himself, but his escape from Islam is an unusual exception, something most Muslims will never have the courage, desire, or fortitude to attempt. I think there are many 'cultural' Muslims who are not fervently religious but play along to avoid being ostracized or killed for apostasy. By the time a Muslim is ten years old, he is completely indoctrinated in the Islamic mindset of supremacy, victimhood, hate of the 'other', especially Jews, and the ridiculous conspiracy theories that permeate Islamic society, blaming the Jews and America for all deficiencies endemic to Islamic countries and for trying to 'destroy Islam'. . Islam has the most effective, efficient brainwashing system ever devised which precludes a Muslim's ability to think or see beyond the parameters of the archaic, primitive, fatalistic, submissive and ritualistic realm of Islamic confinement. Islam creates a small, isolated world of inexorable repetition, where life revolves around ritual prayers five times a day and modernity and change are anathema. It is possible that modern technology and the internet will open new worlds for Muslims and broaden their horizons. However, I am doubtful based upon the actions and behavior of Muslim immigrants to the West. Muslims in the U.K. are demanding Sharia and threatening to overthrow the British government; second generation immigrants in Europe and the U.S. are most likely to become terrorists; Muslims do not assimilate in any Western country and have no desire to do so; radical clerics run the mosques and foment hate, supremacy, and sedition in AMerica and Europe. So even when they live in free countries with unlimited freedom and opportunity, they are not content and many are openly hostile. They make unreasonable demands for special privileges, egregiously abuse our legal systems, and engage in grievance theater with contrived and false accusations of 'racism' and 'islamophobia'. If we continue to allow millions of Muslims into Western countries, we are inviting disaster; it may already be too late for Europe. If our governments do not keep close tabs on the Muslim Brotherhood and its many offshoot organizations, they will continue their stealth jihad, operating under the radar until they are strong enough to cause serious problems. I do not trust Muslims and I utterly loathe Islam. Nothing would make me happier than to see Islam and its vile, malevolent doctrine and cruel, violent culture cease to exist but that won't happen any time soon. In the meantime, we have made ourselves very vulnerable by allowing millions of Muslims to migrate to the West , and we will endure much more suffering for that mistake. Muslims are like aliens from another planet; by virtue of their religion and its insufferable doctrine, they are not compatible with our culture, our form of government, our values, or our way of life. They plan to make us like them, by force if necessary, and I'm not interested. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
