Yes Islam IS Democracy.

The real test for the democratic nature of any regime is in the way various communities under its governance live in full mutuality and equality , sharing every resource, both material and moral, in a fair and equitable manner agreeable to all, and without any discrimaination based on faith, colour, or gender. Islam proved its unmacheable value, in this respect, all along the ten centuries or more during which it ruled over the major part of the world and helped humanity achieve real harmony and interfaith respect. The Omari Covenant , concluded betwen the Caliph Omar and the Church in Jerusalem , fourteen centuries ago my be considered as the first Global Peace Covenant and offers a true reflection of the real democratic and tolerant nature of Islam.
