Turkey at the Edge of Its Destiny

Kofi Annan had the preferred world's view of the Middle East posted upon a wall behind him, a map showing the footprint of a unified state where once it was labeled Israel; his version was all in Arabic and no Israeli references were left to dissuade any ideas of his distaste of Israel. It is the preferred condition of just about anyone outside Israel that places Israel on the wrong side of a world that is trying its very best to gain peace at Israel's expense. It would be like not letting Pakistan or Bangladesh be separate from India.

Be careful as to what the world thinks about Almighty God's desire in this matter; for doing so invokes the Hebrew Holy Bible's version of the plan and that is exactly what the world is trying in vain to avoid!

As to your assertion of Turkey's role in NATO, only by remembering NATO's original charter in defending the European continent from the Warsaw Pact threat does one understand that any role in theater defense requires there be a definitive alliance of aligned sensibilities; that to surmise Turkey being ready to defend against Islamic invasions in the European theater is a difficult idea to embrace now that Turkey is overwhelmingly in support of Islamic sensibilities. I would imagine anyone with a sense of the contradictory implication that has would realize that having Turkey as a part of NATO under the current circumstances is contraindicative. Just ask the Russians what they would think.
