Truth sets one freeReader comment on item: Goodbye Ankara Submitted by Debanjan Banerjee (India), Sep 29, 2011 at 23:55 Dear Mr. Ianus , Your quotation of Polibius is not authentic since the person as you mention was himself a Roman court historian and that is why he mentions about the crocodile tears of Scipio Africanus who was personally responsible for destruction of Troy. Why should any sane person give importance to the tears of a person like Scepio Africanus who himself is responsible for the destruction of troy ? And what were those tears for exactly ? Were they for joy in destroying the glorious city of Carthage and enslaving the population ? You can never appreciate the greatness of Ottoman empire is evident from your bias towards it. In Ottoman any one with merit and talent could climb to the top of the ruling heirarchy. Whether you accept it or not most of the Ottoman's wives were from Christian origins and most Ottoman Sultans themselves were born of Christian mothers , themselves. Some of the best and brightest of Ottoman generals , lawyers , architects and ministers (grand Viziers were people of Christian heritage. Now you tell me how many Muslims were given equal opportunity to shine in Greece , Bulgaria , Serbia , Poland , Italy , Russia etc ? How many ministers , generals , architects from Muslim ancestry have been given to shine in Greece , Bulgaria , Serbia , Poland , Italy or Germany for example. These are the links which must melt your heart (if you have any left) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persecution_of_Muslims#The_Balkans http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massacres_of_Albanians_in_the_Balkan_Wars http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Massacres_during_the_Greek_Revolution#Massacres_of_Turks http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Srebrenica_massacre Now tell me what exactly those Balkan states who got independence from the Ottoman empire did do in terms of peace and prosperity ? The Armenians , the Bulgarians , the poles and the rest immediately accepted the jackboot of Stalinism and the Greeks accepted their military generals. Look at these countries economies now and look at Turkey's economy now. Your Greece , Bulgaria , Poland etc are nothing but parasites upon the self-sufficient economies of Germany. Thanks to Allah , Turkey was rejected by the European Union so it can still maintain its sovereignty. The people of Balkans as well as those of Eastern and Sothern and Central Europe will have to accept the jackboot of the herenvolk of the European Union bureaucrats till eternity until they decide to free themselves from the real scourge and curse that is nationalism.
