Better had stick to petty insults...Reader comment on item: Arabist Snobs Submitted by Amin Riaz (United Kingdom), Dec 21, 2011 at 19:52 I would be careful calling anyone stupid if i was you :-) Ha ha - especially given that you failed to spell LASER. And your claim that it was a primary adjective. Then this strange notion that somehow Arabic is weak language.... for which you fail to find support among vast western scholars. You have to rely on words like LOL and OMG - it shows your literacy levels quite well. How old are you 17? LOl, You should be a comedian. I provide a scholar who claims Arabic is an inadequate language, and you say that when a scholar says that Arabic is an inadequate language, does that not mean it is a weak language? Does that not specifically that Arabic is a weak language in relation to its application in the sciences? Does not the low rates of translations to and from Arabic show that people chose not to read or write in Arabic, therefore shows it is weak in literature? Does not the pathetic standing of Universities of Arabic speaking peoples and lack of scientific success of Arabic speakers show that is is weak academically? All cultures go through rise and fall - if you have not figured that out.... well. If you read the full article - the author does not call Arabic +weak language anywhere. He calls it inadequate in relation to science that is all - directly in-relation to translation of scientific material. Nowhere does he conclude that it is Arabic that has to be changed dropped or adopted when presenting his conclusion You called it weak language. You have lied before you are lying again... and you tend to repeat yourself - without bothering to read what I say in reply. You are still kind of answering what I said 3/4 posts back. And you struggle to find anyone supporting your views. Therefore if Arabic is described as a weak language in sciences, it is weak academically, and no one bothers to translate it into other languages or translate other languages into it proves my point. The many tangents you seem to love going off on to hide these facts, only show your desperation to try and portray Arabic as a strong language. You even make ridiculous statements that English is weak??? LOL how stupid are you? The strength of English is that it can take in other words from other languages, It is not Arabic that is weak - it is Arabs. Huge difference. All languages adopt - that is why they are therefore. And you struggle Yet opposite is true - I have found far better class of scholar and far more that hold Arabic to be a sophisticated language. There is difference between quality of a language and the cability of its people. You even make ridiculous statements that English is weak??? LOL how stupid are you? The strength of English is that it can take in other words from other languages, Are you genuinely trying to say that English is a strong because it borrows words from other languages? That by default would make Urdu the worlds strongest language - which it isn't. Strength of a language is its own lexicon. Not how many words it has borrowed. Another factor is grammar... English lost or oversimplified - it has lost many grammatical elements. Linguistically it is far weaker than Latin. Any language borrows words - that shows its weakness NOT strength. Why else do you thing the French have to band words? So you have no argument why English isn't a weak language - other than name calling. And you are calling me stupid? Someone who doesn't know what an adjective is! English as a language has changed rapidly and its ability to change and adapt is its weakness. The inability of Arabic to change and adapt is its weakness, the inability of Arabic to keep up with modern science and social demand is why no one reads Arabic literature, because virtually no one write any of it any more. It is the Arabs who have not kept up with science - not Arabic. The two are diametrically opposed arguments. If literacy rates go up and then.... Within 20yrs literacy rate have increased. Better political situations and less corruption would improve the situation a lot. As money is one thing they don't need. Just better management. Facilities in countries like Saudi, UAE, Oman, Qatar and etc tend to quite good. As they still have plenty of oil money... "English as a language has changed rapidly and its ability to change and adapt is its weakness." Read your own line out aloud ... see if it makes sense? You are exactly like I said before, you are a stone knapper, living in the past and unable to see what every body else has, that Arabic only developed any literature from the 8th Century, and was dead as a progressive language by 1400's. Who is this everybody? Where are they? Where is your support in the Academic world? Sorry how many names did you give? Here you embroil into another argument - yet pathetically you will draw same conclusion that Arabic is a weak language. I gave you a better list and far far more academics.... supporting that Arabic is a sophisticated language. The world has moved on since then, and except for a few zealots or westerners who study it from an academic perspective, Arabic unless dramatically modernized, with fade away totally. Amin, rant and rave as you do, the fact is more people in Arabic speaking countries will be speaking English as a first language than Arabic, within 50 years. Ever tried programming a computer without English? Here again - you go on to make your own baseless conclusion - wildly plucked from thin air. Virtually all no virtually no one in the Arabic world speaks English as a Again all evidence points against this - given that Muslim at large have greater birth rate and is likely the world biggest religion because of it - Muslim study and will keep on learning it because of the Quran and adopt it within their cultures - as far wide as China. Virtually all Prestigious Western Universities study it - and the number of departments are going up in UK. After fellow European languages it has the biggest department. And qualification levels from Secondary School to Phd's. Your views are based on hate and prejudice and lies - I have proved that repeatedly. You will pull a few facts from reference sites than claim somehow they support your views. Which more often than not - they don't.
