Indeed there have been advances in nuclear warfare since you last looked. They can use smaller yields for more targeted areas like we use shaped explosives. You can also use conventional or nukes in a chain sequence where they follow each behind the other to penetrate to great depths. Nukes might be necessary as more and more of the Iranian program goes under ground in the Qom area. That is the real deadline that Israel is facing. If the Iranian program gets enough assets protected in hardened bunkers then Israel become dependent on the US to target them. Since Obama will never do so Bibi is faced with using conventional means now or nukes later.

As usual Obama's mismanagement is going to cause a bigger problem then what he started with. If after all Israel finally decides they have to use nukes on Iran what will USSR [yeah I know] do? If Putin moves to retaliate on Israel will Obama back Bibi? Obama says he worries about the price of war, I worry about the price of a peace that doesn't exist; the price of inaction.
