another point to considerReader comment on item: Further Thoughts on Not Intervening in Syria Submitted by dee (France), Jun 15, 2012 at 14:41 I personally would love to see the LSM interview Christians in the region to see what they think about the situation. Now to my other consideration in the matter. Why are we not seeing that Saudi Arabia could be sparking a civil war..... "a wag the dog". I don't believe the fundamentalists when they say they want democracy period. I see it as a way to win the minds and hearts of democracy lovers in the west who pity the so call down trodden. When the truth is they don't want democracy look at Egypt, a prime example of them not wanting to change their constitution at the drop of the democracy hat! Thank God! The US citizens don't know the history of Syria or the tribal spats and also do not understand that Christians actually live in the region and have been persicuted before and if Assad is taken out they will be driven from the land again. Remember their words "send the Christians to Beriut and the Alawits to their coffins". What no one is talking about is the real reason why all of these government takeovers are starting. Answer me this one correctly and have American and Europe stand behind the truth and Syria can be saved from destruction. Let me ask this question which is very simple why Assad now? He massacred between 10 to 20 thousand people so why not then? It does not add up. I even think it is deeper than the tribal spats and so called democracy in Syria.
