Partition can never happen

Despite the fact that most of the Middle East is comprised of tribes and clans (called hamoulas), including the three that rule over Gaza, the artificially and perhaps randomly delineated boundaries that created these countries failed miserably to achieve any sort of unification or nationalization. There are plenty of countries that exist with multiple ethnic groups and function, so why not the ME?

The tribal mentalities prevent these folks from ever really unifying unless against a temporary common enemy (the west/USA/Israel) but it does not preclude them from internal warfare murder and mayhem if the strict rule of a dictator falters. It is always there, right below the surface.
