The Answer

You asked why it is that Jihadists carry out these terrorist acts which in the end are counterproductive to their cause and you provided some answers but omitted an important one. The religion brainwashes them, programs them, and they continue to repeat lunatic violence as any computer program repeats whatever tasks that has been programmed for it.

This is enormously damaging to The Muslim Brotherhood, the principal organization behind societal or stealth jihad, because it destroys the image that they and their cohorts, including Obama, try to establish. And since they are programmed to continue to pull off savage attacks the process will continue and the inevitable outcome will be a backlash of unprecedented proportions in which many innocent Muslims will be butchered, mosques will be burned, and Islam, what will be left of it, may survive only in distant African villages that have little or no communication with the rest of the world.
