Andrew, I hope so, too.Reader comment on item: How Terrorism Harms Radical Islam Submitted by Jeff (United States), Jan 13, 2015 at 13:06 I also hope Dr. Pipes is right, at least in the long run. Currently, it seems to me that 9/11 was a huge success for the attackers. Since 9/11, we have Eid US postage stamps, itfar dinners at the White House, well-funded Prince Alwaleed Islamic Studies programs popping up at Amereican universities, and CAIR "civil rights" experts are the darlings of the media and the White House. Since 9/11, every year during Ramadan, I read in the paper how local Muslms are bearing up and faithfully donating to Islamic charities (no mention of how that money gets spent - I still haven't heard of Islamic charities building schools and heath clinics for impoverished Christians or Hindus). CNN says "...it is our policy not to show potentially offensive images of the prophet." 1. He's not my prophet. 2. Who else gets that much consideration from CNN? Have they announced they won't show potentially offensive images of the Savior? At the behest of Arab governments, western governments got together to kick out the dictator Muammar Gaddafi, who had transparently given up WMD and was no threat to our security. We swept him out of the way and made room for al qaeda to move in in his place. Now in Libya they're rounding up and murdering Christians, which our newspapers haven't heard about and there's not a whisper of complaint from our State Department. If I were a jihadist I'd be feeling very confident right now. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
