There is a penalty for attempting to redefine/reform IslamReader comment on item: Assessing Obama's Mosque Speech on Islam Submitted by Lance (United States), Feb 16, 2016 at 23:19 The very nature of Islam demands that devout Muslims deliver judgement on any that attempt to reform it. That judgement is death. To Muslim clerics, to even suggest the reform of Islam is blasphemy. One would have to admit that part of the Quran is imperfect and in need of revision. One can see how no Muslim cleric would EVER suggest such a thing. Unlike Christianity that has several revisions of the bible that we are free to consider, God does not demand we exact a punishment on those that revise and omit text from the bible as God reserves that judgement for His own hand as He has warned. Had God commanded the deaths of any that attempt to do so, we Christians would be in the same boat as the Muslims. I agree that Islam will never be reformed for the reason I outlined.
