Shi'a Sunni split v Islamism

Both you and Dr Pipes are correct. There is no doubt that what Daesh has done so far (beheading, slavery, rape, murder even looting archaeological sites and selling the artifacts selling oil to Assad who is their enemy in-order to make money etc...) are all based on doctrines and traditions that one can find in the Qur'an al-Ahadith and Muhammad'a Sunna and biography Which means that although Daesh is functioning in the 21st century it is still working with medieval texts that are supposed to be true for all times and all places And I challenge Mr Obama or any Muslim to find anything that Daesh did that you and I cannot find in these revered Islamic texts

So are the members of Daesh real Muslims or are they Islamists? Well the obvious answer here is they are Muslims

I recall (but I stand corrected here) that the Sudanese Muslim reformer Mahmoud Mohamed Taha (who was murdered) once said that one of those days what will be left of Islam is spiritual Islam or Sufism And indeed as I told Dr Pipes I believe that the decline of Islamism started on July 3 2013 when Morsi and MB were forced out of office Most Egyptians have no like for the MB or takfiris and Salafists and that speaks volumes

Now how about the Shi'a and the Sunni conflict? Anyone who reads Arabic can watch the war on the internet between Sunnis and Shi'a where the Shi's are called Rawafid and Kuffar by the Sunnis (Example? Google murder of 4 Egyptian Shi'a in Egypt in 2013 Unbelievable) The Shi'a make fun of Sunni icons so 'Aisha is called a slut and Omar Mu'awiyya Othman and even the king of Morocco are called passive homosexual

Yes this split started in Medieval times but it is not going to go any where soon and it is up to Muslims to fix it.

I recall a comment that was made by an Egyptian Sunni Muslim in regard to non Sunni Egyptians: The Copts and Egyptian Jews (the last 10 of them) are fine but not the (Egyptian) Shi'a

If Catholics and Protestants can fix their differences I have hope with Shi'a and Sunni conflict
