Erdogan could be "Gog". Don't know about PutinReader comment on item: Another Voice Predicting Islamism's Doom Submitted by Michael S (United States), Jul 29, 2016 at 07:29 Hi, Tovey This discussion can be considered "esoteric", if the average reader doesn't have any idea what we're talking about because he or she hasn't been "initiated" into our circle. You and I are from different backgrounds, but I know what you are talking about when you glibly ascribe Russia to be "God", or refer to a "rapture". These terms have been bandied about by revivalist-rooted Protestants for several decades, and taken as "givens" by many people WE know; but the general public -- even many churchgoers -- is unfamiliar with such things. I don't think Daniel is much concerned about whether some "We Four and No More", or the "Church of the Frozen Chosen" gets raptured or not. Also, most Jews are not concerned about some coming "Antichrist", whether he is a Pope, a Jew or a Communist. They, and I assume Daniel among them, are certainly, however, concerned about the reincarnation of a Hitler or Mussolini. Another thing I notice, is that hard-to-believe "Evangelical" talk may give some the impression that if any strong world leader appears on the scene, he must either be the "Christ" or the "Antichrist" -- and to a Jew, the one doesn't seem much different from the other. This has led to all sorts of craziness, including the "Never Trump" movement. Some people think Erdogan is Gog. Other think Putin is Gog. Others thing a whole bunch of different things. I think Erdogan is a good candidate for being Gog; but we'll have to wait and see how things turn out. I'm ambivalent about Putin.
