The ism is the norm, to spread Islam.

The brief period of time Mohammad spent trying to conquer through persuasion was just that, brief. Mohammad is the ism of Islam. In my opinion that is why many say PBUH because they hope for the brief periods of peace that the blood and suppression of men women and children satiates, until next time.
