Yes, but how does the Sunni rapprochement figure in?Reader comment on item: Pushing for an Israeli Victory Is the Only Way to End the Conflict with the Palestinians Submitted by Dave, Dec 2, 2018 at 21:22 The strongest argument I've heard in favor of Netanyahu's restraint was that it does not rock the boat with Egypt, Saudi and the Gulf states, as Israel's relations with some of the Sunni states have improved. There's the intelligence sharing with the KSA, and the recent sale of an intel system to them. And Sisi is a strong foe of Hamas, to list a few developments. Sure, they hate and fear the radicals that threaten them, like the MB and Iran, but I wonder how far their forbearance would really go if Israel took off the gloves. Maybe they would admire Israel's strength of purpose, and gain respect for Israel's resolve. It bears some thought, and I don't have a crystal ball.
