Zionism (Israel) vs. Shia Islam (Iran)Reader comment on item: Pushing for an Israeli Victory Is the Only Way to End the Conflict with the Palestinians Submitted by Robert (United States), Jul 2, 2021 at 10:28 Dear Jeff, Orientalism was turned into a Political Concept by Christian Palestinian (and Columbia Professor of Literature, heavily engaged in Critical Theory), Edward Said, and with it he did manage to distort reality in favor of his anti-Western ideology. Whatever "Truth" that view holds would better be expressed by the notion of "Euro-centrism." Similarly, we have also the notion of Tunnel Vision. We (in the USA) see the Middle East as a struggle by the West, the USA, and Israel as a "War" against Palestinians, Islamism (radical Muslims), Sunnis, Shia, Arabs, Iranians, Turks, Pakistanis, etc. All this blocks our vision from a more accurate Strategic Perspective: the two main adversaries are ISRAEL and IRAN. This forces all others to choose sides, or stay neutral. Fortunately for Israel, in the Middle East, Arab Countries, show a growing preference for Israeli Zionism, over Iranian Shia Islam, or Turkey's Muslim Brotherhood Sunni Islam.
