Two direct questions for Debanjan Banerjee

Dear Dr Pipes,

Mr Debanjan Banerjee proposed that IDF should be dismantled and all Israeli infrastructure should be handed over to Egypt etc. That is well and good but Mr Banerjee went on to further propose that the holy land should be secular "where anyone be it a Jew or Arab can participate and compete in a democratic government". I would like Mr Banerjee to answer us 1) why do only non-Islamic lands need to be secular democratic when all Islamic lands are dirty theocracies 2) before Islam occupied Mecca it was a thriving center of Christian/Pagan and Jewish worship. Why shouldn't mecca be a secular place "where anyone be it a Jew or Arab can participate and compete in a democratic government".
