ISLAM NEEDS OWN MODEL AND WESTERN MODEL DOES NOT WORKReader comment on item: Israeli Victory, Palestinian Prosperity Submitted by DEBANJAN BANERJEE (India), Jul 26, 2021 at 01:04 Dear Mr Prashant, I am ready to do an honest debate about why Western models do not work in the West Asian context. There are plenty of examples to support my viewpoint. 1. The unstable and fragile governments in US-occupied Afghanistan and Iraq are the biggest examples. The US despite putting trillions of dollars into these once stable countries have not been able to create just and progressive societies. These are the biggest signals of failure of the Western-led modernity societies to transform these once prosperous societies. 2. Lebanon is another huge example of failure of the Western-led modernity. Lebanon have had huge interaction with the Western societies. Most of its elite (be it Muslim, Christian or Druze) were educated in the top-ranked American universities despite that they failed to govern the country for decades. This is the biggest example of the failure of the Western modernity. 3. The West Asian elite who have been educated in the West are the biggest examples of the failure of the Western modernity. All these people are completely disconnected from the realities of their societies and they blindly believed that exporting the Western models of modernity would improve their lot. They failed for this one reason that they were educated in the West and lost touch with the realities of their societies. 4. Only the grassroot movements like the Iraqi resistance groups and Hezbollah are successful for the simple reason that they are connected to the realities of their societies and that is why they are the only successful ones in their societies. I eagerly await your answers. Submitting....
