.........Perplexities of Perennial 'Palestinianism'........
Probabilities of the 'Palestinian' issues continuing to be problematic and their continued causes and effects being debated in endless cycles of no one being willing to concede the futilities upon futilities in which almost everyone believes it is Israel's problem to solve and pay for, where might one come to terms that if Israel does find the solution, will the rest of the world concede and let Israel solve it? What would the likelihood of that even occurring be?
From a pragmatic observation, if that kind of observation was even approachable, would the UN, the EU (indeed of all the international angst of the world that is directed towards collimating Israel to a few (IF ANY) patches of their territory were to be given to the Jewish nation), and other entities, consider Israel entitled to obtaining peace on any of their terms, let alone any victory? Considering the angst of such issues here in this forum, the thunder in the distance would conclude: NO!
To that extent, then the only conclusion is that all of the issues building up in every sector are being prepared for contributing to Israel's breakout of the mold the world is trying to build around Israel; and the problem remains: what will the world do when that breaks? Anyone?
Ultimately, what is the argument about 'Palestine' all about? Objectively, 'Palestine' is contrived: it has no reality for the distant future of the region; It remains only because it is the only perpetual obstacle of former colonialistic dreams of Roman empire that failed centuries ago based upon a ethnic people that no longer exist. They cannot be resurrected; only the name can be perpetuated: but to what end? There is no real legacy, nothing can be subsumed.
The victory premised by Dr. Pipes is one of ideology only; but does it need to be excised through international threats of battle? One could think, maybe not so: but Hamas and Hizbollah and their proxy leaders are swinging Damascene sabres of ill-intentioned wreckage towards those that oppose their dreams and ambitions of empire. Where does it stop?
Maybe, just maybe, stop appropriating the 'Palestinian' name and seek the true inheritances anciently promised and then peace, not victory, might be achieved.
