"No they don't, just who is this Allah?"Reader comment on item: Bolstering Moderate Muslims Submitted by Lactantius Jr. (United Kingdom), Oct 17, 2007 at 06:36 To Moderate Muslim There's unfinished business from May first, you not responding to my posting:- "What's in a name?" http://www.danielpipes.org/comments/91207 and I'll be pleased to have your response, but now I respond to your assertion that Christians and Muslims worship the same God, no they don't. The US Attorney General at the time of 911, Mr John Ashworth, showed he knew much more about Islam than his President did, by saying, "The fundamental difference between Christianity and Islam, is that the God of the Bible sent His Son to die for us, whilst the Qur'anic Allah requires Muslims' sons to die for him." Allah, the god of the Qur'an is not the God revealed in the printed words of the Bible, and supremely revealed in the living, loving Word of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. Compare and contrast what the Bible and the Qur'an say:- "And they crucified Him, and parted His garments, casting lots; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet" Matthew 27:35 "They killed Him not, nor crucified Him" The Quran: Surah 4:157 "This is My beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased" Matthew 3:17, 17:5 "No son did Allah beget" The Quran: Surah 23:91 "Anyone who denies the Son doesn't have the Father either. But anyone who confesses the Son has the Father also." I am well aware that Arabic-speaking Christians refer to the God of the Bible as Allah, and I have no problem with that, they have no other word to use for Him, and they really are worshipping the God of the Bible. Yet Muslims insist that Allah is not a title, but the personal name of the Qur'anic Allah, the god of Islam, and the problem this causes for Islam, is that the Bible says His Name is not Allah, but Yahweh/Jehovah. The Name Yahweh appearing nearly 7,000 times in the Old Testament, and NEVER in the Qur'an. "God spoke further to Moses and said to him, "I am Yahweh (YHVH) and I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, as God Almighty; BUT BY MY NAME, YAHWEH, I did not make myself known to them." It is truly astonishing that the name Yahweh does not appear even once in the entire Qur'an, despite its repeated claim that it comes from the same true God of Abraham! The Qur'an in several places claims to be complete. If the Qur'an is a book complete in and of itself, why does it nowhere contain the name of God as revealed to His previous prophets? Looking at the source documents of Christianity and Islam, that is the Bible and the Qur'an, reveals a mutually exclusive difference between the God of the Bible and the Qur'anic Allah, and whoever the Qur'anic Allah is, he is not the same God as the Biblical God. Deception lies at the very heart of Islam, with it denying the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ, saying that Allah put a "lookalike" on the cross, "That they said (in boast), ‘We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Apostle of Allah'; - but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not." Surah 4:157 (Abdullah Yusuf Ali) the Bible saying:- "Let me clearly state to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that he was healed by the powerful name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, the man you crucified, but Whom God raised from the dead." Acts 4:10 with Jesus saying:- "When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as though dead. Then He placed His right hand on me and said: "Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades." Revelation 1:17-18 There are definitely things the God described in the Bible cannot do, and lying is one of them, He and the Qur'anic Allah cannot therefore be the same person. Period. It is impossible for the God revealed in the pages of the Bible and supremely revealed in the Lord Jesus Christ to lie, that's right, He can't lie, or do anything else which as "the way, the truth and the life" John 14:6 is contrary to His Character, the Bible giving testimony to God's inability to lie in the following Scriptures:- "a faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, Who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time," Titus 1:2 "............so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul............" Hebrews 6:18-19 He cannot break an unconditional promise He has said He will fulfil. "God is not a man, that He should lie.He is not a human, that He should change His mind. Has He ever spoken and failed to act? Has He ever promised and not carried it through?" Numbers 23:19 "He is the Rock; His work is perfect. Everything He does is just and fair. He is a faithful God who does no wrong; how just and upright is He." Deuteronomy 32:4 "I've given My word, My whole and holy word; do you think I would lie to David? his family tree is here for good, his sovereignty as sure as the sun." Psalm 89:35 & 36 "I am GOD-yes, I AM. I haven't changed. And because I haven't changed, you, the descendants of Jacob, haven't been destroyed." "Make them pure and holy by teaching them Your words of truth." "My aim is to raise hopes by pointing the way to life without end. This is the life God promised long ago--and He doesn't break promises!" Titus 1:2 "God can't break His word. And because His word cannot change, the promise is likewise unchangeable. We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go." Hebrews 6:18 "Every desirable and beneficial gift comes out of heaven. The gifts are rivers of light cascading down from the Father of Light. There is nothing deceitful in God, nothing two-faced, nothing fickle." James 1:17 He and the Qur'anic Allah cannot therefore be the same person. Period. The ‘morality' of lying is one of the most confusing aspects of Islamic thought and, as a result, creates the impression that whether a person is truthful, or deceitful, depends entirely on the ethics of the situation, and Muhammad the prophet of Islam, treated truth and deception according to his own style of situational ethics, condoning, and actually permitting lying to further his goals, condoning lying and murder when it suited his purposes. It should come as no surprise therefore, that the Qur'anic Allah (whoever he is), is good at lying, and according to the Qu'ran, Allah schemes, "and is the best of schemers" Surah's 3:54 and 8:30 with the term for scheme in Arabic being makara which denotes one who is a deceiver, one who is conniving, a schemer. It is always used in a negative sense. Allah is thus seen as the best of deceivers, the premiere schemer and conniving one. Deception is at the very heart of Islam, and really, if we knew nothing else about Islam except that it denied Jesus' crucifixion by claiming that Allah put a lookalike" on the Cross, and deceived everybody at the time into believing they had crucified Jesus when they hadn't (if the Islamic version is believed), what does that tell us about Allah, whoever he is, except that he's a deceiver, and I say as emphatically as I can, that he isn't the God and Father of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and I'm really emphatic about this, because the Qur'an, which I don't accept as the Word of God, but quote from it because Muslims believe it to be the Word of Allah, says He isn't, saying that Allah isn't a Father and doesn't have a Son, so just who is this Allah?
