Addendum with Clarification Leading to a Second AddendumReader comment on item: Panetta Predicts an Israeli Strike on Iran Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Feb 27, 2012 at 19:22 So, continuing in the premise that Israel is an intended target for attack, whether by subterfuge complicit with overt activities by her enemies or by provocation accorded by events that inevitability will result in Israel's response, it is certain that the Middle East will be the center of the world's next iteration of the insanity of the Muslim hope that would rid the Middle East of Israel: except it is not going to turn out as expected by too many. For this reader, by answering this under the 'Addendum' post of yours, I do so after having read your Addendum II and have come to a postulation that your prisoner's dilemma scenario choice 1 modified with a different 'provocation' appear closer to manifesting itself, the follow on of which presents itself in a compelling different way. There is the thought that the tactical nuclear response with not be exclusively in Iran, but there is a suggestion that more targeting of 'collateral' sites of opportunity may be involved as well. The provocation may overtly be the tensions of Iranian anxieties, but the action might be provoked for other reasons of a lesser nature for Israel, yet of a disastrous consequence for any who would engage themselves in the conflict unknowingly. The key now appears to involve Turkey and what happens to Syria; and maybe others are involved as well.
