President Obama's junket to Israel

Having just watched President Obama's dramatic, media-intensive arrival in Israel on Israel TV, I can not but help having the following misgivings.

Considering that the US has the highest documented incarceration rate on earth, together with a tragic history of slavery, civil war, awesome present-day poverty as well as having suffered phenomenal human and material losses in Iraq and Afghanistan - I don't think that President Obama should waste his valuable time talking to Israel's PM Netanyahu and Israeli university students. Improvement of the human condition in the USA deserves a far more urgent, intensive, day-by-day ongoing effort. Every single moment lost by President Obama on this flashy and expensive junket to Jerusalem has a tremendous human price-tag attached to it. All the same, thank you for coming Mr. President, God Bless America. My heart goes out to all the people of the USA.
