Your scenario is plausible, but I know the Jews well enough to note that they do not hate the Arabs enough to be active supporters of the scenario you suggest. But you may be absolutely right about Obama. What you have actually described is how the law of unintended consequences works, and Murphy's Law--if something can go wrong, it will--applied to the Arab world.

The Arab Spring morphing into the Islamicist Winter exposes some very deep pathologies endemic to the Islamic world. Since a Mr. Tovey here cites the Hebrew prophets, I think it is a huge irony that on the one side of the conflict, we have the people who gave the self-critical, where-did-I-go-wrong question to the world (after all, the prophets are a few centuries prior to the Golden Age of Athens; and I suspect that the mindset of even the post-Christian West owes more to the Scriptures than it dares admit to itself); and on the other side, we have a people who deny the yetzer ra'a or original sin, and are steeped in a culture of blaming others for their own transparent failings.

As for Obama and his administration, take a hint from the Clintons' evolution on homosexual marriage. These people will sell their souls for the next election. I am certain that the O's administration sees that in the calculus of world politics, the Arabs will always have the Israelis outnumbered, and with the whole non-Arab Islamic world behind them, even more greatly outnumbered. The O administration also saw that the MB was a rising force in the politics of the Arab world, and didn't want to be caught in the position of opposing the "wave of the future", as its predecessor of the 1940's-early 1980's were in opposing Marxism-Leninism. Hence its embrace of people who obviously thought the O administration weak and foolish for embracing them. I think the O thinks he's just making it easy for Hillary when she "inevitably" becomes the president of our sheeple.

And, when the Islamicist movement runs its course and creates the mess that you, Jon, predict, we'll see another disaster of Titanic proportions for the policies of America's best and brightest.
