hope so, but fear not

It would be most welcome if the Jewish people would manage against all odds and the world's opposition to engage in such a daring act of self-defense-- it would exceed all previous feats of heroism. However it is hard to imagine how it would happen now if it didn't happen at all the more strategically opportune moments-- before there was an interim agreement, when Obama was politically cornered with a fight for reelection, in the early days of the administration when Iran possessed only <1000 centrifuges compared to the 20,000+ of today.

That said, contrary to the critics on Israel's left who argue that Obama's appeasement demonstrates the importance of seeking to appease him-- continually blinding themselves to the ever more obvious signs of his hatred for Israel-- it appears that one recurring theme of the past decade is the importance of taking advantage of opportunities for self-defense before they are lost, possibly forever.
