To Randa: women in Islam vs. ChristianityReader comment on item: Islamophobia? Submitted by Lisa (Canada), Nov 18, 2005 at 17:09 Peace be with youYou said "The Quran ended the cruel practice of female infanticide, which was before Islam." I am thankful for Muhammad on this, but again that was a practice by few tribes, Christianity came 600 years before Islam, and has high regards for human soul, it forbids miscourage which is killing human life in the womb, not to mention that a human (male or female) is born already What's new about the kind relationship between parents and children? Honoring parents are within the ten commandments of GOD sent to Prophet Moses. What's new about parents being kind o children, animals have this rule even better than humans sometimes. Muhammad is known to the world by his deeds, I don't have any doubt that he was a smart person, with a charisma the same for many leaders that the world knew, but in no way a prophet, he brought violence and hatred to the world. You talk about what the high regards of women in Islam, you haven't answered how polygym and beating women links with this statues of women. Muhammad didn't by any way reached the level of divinity and by any way had a divine message. He committed adultery, polygym, rape, killing, etc I don't want to repeat myself, see my previous statements. With regards to seeking knowledge, people don't need a religion to make them seek a knowledge, How come your prophet who claims that he is illiterate didn't follow his own advise? Isalm didn't bring anything new, on the contrary it ruined Gods words. You said "Marriage in Islam is based on mutual peace, love, and compassion, and not just the mere satisfying of human sexual desire." Islam contradict itself with regards to so many things including marriage, I have explained this previously but you decided not to answer. "And when you divorce women and they have fulfilled their term (i.e. waiting period), either keep them in kindness or release them in kindness, and do not keep them, intending harm, to transgress (against them). (Quran, 2:231, see also 2:229 and 33:49)." Please Randa, is this what you think right to women, come on for GOD sake. "Keep them or release them" as if women are prisoners to men who decide to keep them or release them. I am surprised that you are a medical student and your mother is lawyer and you don't question these kinds of verses. You said "Associating polygyny with Islam, as if it was introduced by it or is the norm according to its teachings, is one of the most persistent myths perpetuated in Western literature and media. Polygyny existed in almost all nations and was even sanctioned by Judaism and Christianity until recent centuries. Islam did not outlaw polygyny, as did many peoples and religious communities; rather, it regulated and restricted it. It is not required but simply permitted with conditions (see the Quran 4:3). Spirit of law, including timing of revelation, is to deal with individual and collective contingencies that may arise from time to time (e.g. imbalances between the number of males and females created by wars) and to provide a moral, practical, and humane solution for the problems of widows and orphans." This is absolutely NOT true, do NOT accuse Christianity with Polygamy. I have no idea where did you bring this nonsense, I have brought you the verses from the bibles about marriage and family life, never in the bible permits polygymy, not to mention divorce. You said "AS FOR UR QUESTION ABOUT EL MAEDA SURA ABOUT THREE GODS THAT CHRISTAINS BELEIVE IN: the versus in maeda says"(god saying)jesus, son of mary ,did you say to mankind ,take me and my mother as two gods instead of god ? he said,"be glorified! it's not for me to say what i've no right to .if i said it,then you knew it.you know what's in my heart, and i don't know what's in your heart.it's only you who are the knower of hidden things" it's clear enough lisa i guess and there are three groups of christainity ,check the three of them to know that there are christains who beleive that the lord or god is jesus . and it seems that u giving the impression that this Quran nt from god and that prophet mohamed(pbuh) .......well i guess u think he made it up or something : Twelve Proofs that Muhammad is a True Prophet" Listen Randa, there is no section in Christianity ever believed that the trinity believes in Mother, Father and Son, Muhammad during his work went to Syria and surrounding areas that had Christians there, he had a little knowledge about Christianity and about Judaism, he created so many lies about both religions in the Quran. One of them is the trinity's concept and accused Christians of believing in three GODs (God forbid). No Christians in the past or present ever believed that trinity is GOD the father, Mary the Mother and Jesus the son. You said "1. Muhammad (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) was raised illiterate, unable to read or write, and remained like that till his death." Muhammad's illiteracy is a myth, If Muhammad was illiterate then how did he take care of Khadijah's business? How did he travel and was trusted on Khadija's trades in Syria and other surrounding areas, he was taking care of accounting, trading and so many other of his wife's business. You said "This Koran mentioned most of the accounts found in the previous scriptures, telling us about these events in the greatest detail as if he witnessed them. These accounts came precisely as they were found in the Torah sent down to Moses and in the Gospel sent down to Jesus. Neither the Jews or Christians were able to belie him regarding anything that he said. " As I said before, this is total NOT true, Muhammad made so many mistakes about previous religions, it is not up to him or up to any Muslim to say what our religions are about. Christians since the very beginning of Islam until today deny all of the false teachings that Muhammad had about Christianity. You said "2. Muhammad (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) also foretold of everything that would occur to him and his community after him, pertaining to victory, the removal of the tyrannical kingdoms of Chosroes [the royal title for the Zoroastrian kings of Persia] and Caesar, and the establishment of the religion of Islam throughout the earth. These events occurred exactly as Muhammad foretold, as if he was reading the future from an open book. " When did that happen? I have read the Quran and hadith and never heard of such a hadith or sura, where is it? Muhammad didn't and was not able to perform any miracle, he in his own words said that he didn't come to perform miracles as Jesus did. You said "3. Muhammad (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) also brought an Arabic Koran that is the peak of eloquence and clarity. The Koran challenged those eloquent and fluent Arabs of his time, who initially belied him, to bring forth a single chapter like the Koran. The eloquent Arabs of his day were unable to contest this Koran. " The Quran doesn't challenge anyone, the poets at the jahiliya times were even better than what is written in Quran, since you are Egyptian, have you heard of Taha Hussian "I am not sure about the name but I'll dig for it" who challenged the Quran and was going to be killed for this. You said "Indeed, till our day, none has ever dared to claim that he has been able to compose words that equal-or even approach-the order, grace, beauty, and splendor of this Glorious Koran." What is so beautiful about "kill them where ever you find them"? if you find this beautiful than GOD help us All of the rest of your statement is about how muslims adore Muhammad. If Muhammad was to live today, he will be accused of adultery, war crimes, not to mention rape. I think the muslims who wants to scarify their wealth just to see Muhammad for 1 time, they better save the money to educate themselves and free themselves ....
