This is largely wishful thinking unsubstantiated by major historical events in the devolution of despotism. For example: When Hitler invaded Poland the enthusiastic support of the German people was conspicuous by its absence. There were no spontaneous demonstrations of support, to speak of. They folks were sober and reflective. To move from private opinions expressed to an outsider to predicting a governmental reformation is a naive leap. Would not the Taliban still be power, despite your assertion of the low esteem in which they were held, had not they been subjected to smart bombs from B-52s?
